Proper Installation
Rupture Disc installation is very critical. They must be installed flush on the inner barrel of the extruder.
If there is an excessive dead space, plastic material may harden and form a plug. This may render the extruder rupture disc ineffective, and cause a safety hazard.
Temperature
Effects on Rupture Disks
Rupture
Disc are effected by temperature. Below is a table of how
to change ratings of rupture disks based on temperature.
All MPI rupture disks have Inconel diaphragms, so are not
greatly temperature dependant.
|
Description
MPI extruder rupture discs are used for reliable economical pressure relief in plastic extruders.
The Inconel Disc material ensures they will instantly rupture at a specific pressure over a wide temperature range.
